ATL to MIA

 A story of faith, teamwork, and perseverance.

Famous music producer Polow da Don and a group of his friends bicycled over 750 miles from Atlanta, GA to Miami, FL.  This was the second year for event organizers Veronica Vega and Amanda Greene, but they still faced their fair share of challenges. The cycle across the two states took the group a total of 7 days to complete.  They ran into a ton of complications and obstacles along the way, which left them second guessing their ability to finish the race. Bridge closer's, flat tires, and rain storms forced them to reroute. This cycle event really tested the groups faith. Everyone wanted to quit but they continued to preserve though it all. When their minds started to play tricks on them their teammates were there to help uplift, encourage, and motivate, them to keep on pushing towards the finish line.

Patrick a Grammy awarded composer has seen his share of success in music but this journey brought on new challenges.  Well overweight, his doctor told him that he wasn’t going to make it to the finish line, but he proved him wrong. In the interview, you hear the Patrick talk about his journey and how hard it was for him to carry his weight across the two states; what kept him going was quoting bible verses and listening to music. Polow said that “A lot of people looked at his size and was focused on his outward appearance, but a lot of it was based upon the inside of his heart”. This man had faith in God and not his own physical ability.  He knew he was overweight but that didn’t discourage him to back away from his goal.

Whenever we feel like giving up, we need the crowd of faithful believers around us to encourage us to continue running our race of faith and vice versa. It’s so easy to give up on a goal, it takes strength and faith to trust God and preserve.

 "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us."
